This past year has certainly brought some unforeseen challenges and many of us miss the camaraderie enjoyed with in-person Toastmasters meetings. The good news is that despite the difficulties brought on by the pandemic, Toastmasters continues to thrive and bring people together!<\/p>\n
A new Toastmasters Club is being formed called the Seasoned Speakers Toastmasters Advanced Club.<\/p>\n
This club is designed for experienced Toastmasters who want to further hone their speaking and evaluation skills in an advanced setting. To facilitate this, an in-depth \u201cMastermind\u201d evaluation process is applied to each speech and each evaluation in a roundtable format. This feedback extends beyond what is offered at many clubs because both the speakers and evaluators will receive a thorough and comprehensive assessment of their performance by fellow club members. At Seasoned Speakers, members will be provided with a positive and supportive learning experience in which they will be challenged to take their presentation and communication skills to a new level.<\/p>\n
Meetings are currently held via Zoom every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. With virtual meetings we have the benefit of welcoming participants from various places across Ontario as we are not constrained by geographic boundaries.<\/p>\n
In terms of eligibility requirements, potential members must have completed two Pathways Levels or at least six speeches in the traditional program (Competent Communicator). Members must have previously been a member of a club or retain membership with their current club so as not to have
\na negative impact on the growth of existing clubs.<\/p>\n
Toastmasters International is offering a special incentive where they are waiving the new member and club registration fees. Therefore, our club dues from April 2021 to March 2022 are just $130.00 in Canadian funds.<\/p>\n
